In 2022, Dreams launched a new label, Dance Data, which has quickly gained the attention of the underground dance music community - and set the stage with a new two track EP called ‘Paraxotica/Vessel’. 50 copies only!!
Steven Rutter, one half of B12, returns to De:tuned with a staggering ode to the 90s UK bleep techno era. Opener "O.L.F. ResPekt" sets the bar with a respectful flashback to the trademark sound. "Rewind 273" follows the path with a pitched down composition that strengthens the rather mellow and floaty vibe. On the flip "Incredible" combines the best of both worlds, a real gem for all bleep and bass fiends in signature B12 style.Kevin Foakes (Openmind, DJ Food, Ninja Tune) created all the graphic work. Mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis and pressed on 180 gr vinyl. A separate digital release will also be available at the usual digital shops. Stay tuned!
Intercepts is a brand new sub-label from London's Frequency Domain.Frequency Domain has soundtracked late-night astral travelling since 2015, releasing drone, ambient and offbeat electronics from the likes of Forest Drive West, Plant43, Datassette, Matt Whitehead, Anthony Child, Jo Johnson and Ali Wade.Intercepts indulges the parent label's more unruly and percussive leanings with a series of EPs drawn up from an anonymous pool of Frequency Domain artists and newcomers. Intercepts releases are served two at a time, with two separate strands - X and Y - each exploring their own sonic trajectory. The first 'Y' series EP delivers three tracks of urgent machine funk; a spannered slab of 170bpm Braindance hogs the A side, while two peak-time sci-fi electro cuts play out on the flip.
In 2011, Ard Janssen was one of the first musicians to grace Shipwrec. Now, some eleven years later, the sound sculptor returns for a full album on Phainomena. Music for Delirious Episodes brings together eleven compositions. Ard Bit is known for his delicate, almost brittle, works. This collection focuses on that same fragility that fascinates Janssen. From the first steps of "Troubled Veil", the listener is absorbed into a digital weave of field recordings, everyday undulations, other day modulations and loose harmony. Traditional instruments, string and wind, are filtered and re-imagined. The mundane echoes of routines are reborn as the percussive hum of pieces like "Stripped" and "Broken Respirator (White Funnel)." Behind the shifts and shuffles lurks something triumphal. Memories are given new form through audio carvings. Birdsong is handcrafted through knob tweaks, elephant trumpets bellow past swells of electronic insects as a glowing sun rises through the speaker. Hazes of static are shorn back, as in "Seppuku", to allow moments of intense focus and reflection. And then we return, to that ephemeral beauty that permeates this record, with the final embrace of "Awakening Delusion". An artist who finds the extraordinary in the often overlooked, or unheard.
Yo Speed released their debut in digital format on the Distorsion Records in 2016. Since then their sound has gradually evolved, as their productions have served to mark a turning point in today's Breakbeat sound, making them a leading name throughout the genre on the international stage. As you would expect, their first solo vinyl release comes courtesy of the label where they first started out.On this first disc, DIST001 in the new Distorsion Records physical catalogue, entitled 'Free Ur Mind', Yo Speed offer us a collection of three tracks with a clearly defined approach. Penetrating subwoofers create an enveloping cushion of rhythms laden with swing and groove, twisted but elegant base sounds that will have you dancing from the very first beat. Ambient and vocal sound effects which end up holding you captive, subconsciously inviting reflection. A clear message, sonic purity free of superfluous flourishes, to release the mind on the dancefloor... And to round things off, Man Of Speed, one of their classic tracks representing the sound of their initial creative phase.Mastered and cut by Simon Davey at The Exchange Vinyl, with artwork by Timur Khabirov, complementing a disc of great quality in every aspect.Order DIST001 nowunsubscribe from this list update subscription preferences distribution.triplevision.nlTriple Vision Record Distribution BV · Achterhaven 160 · Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland 3024 RC · Netherlands
