Pascale Project debuts on Craigie Knowes with the ‘Good People Only’ EP. The title is lifted from the title track ‘Café Crazy’ – a dance-pop hybrid soaked in good vibes and electronic fun. The 3 original tracks are laced with original lyrics and themes that were written and performed by Pascale Project. A1 is remixed and refoamed by the D. Tiffany with additional vox by NAP.
The West Coast has long been synonymous with a sunny, breezy take on tech house thanks to artists like Fresh and Low, Hipp-E and Halo and Doc Martin. Lesser known but just as influential was LA based producer Eric Spire and some of his Silver Pearl label mates. Back in the late 90s they cooked up plenty of forward-thinking cuts with a heavy, psychedelic edge on the now cult imprint. Now some of the best of them have been assembled by Sushitech label head Yossi Amoyal across four superb 12"s that offer a great reminder of this vital era.
Jay Tripwire has popped up a lot recently, which is always going to be good news for fans of those freaky late-night tech sounds that he is so well known and loved for. He kicks off Serenity's fifth release here alongside Jehr on 'Magic Man', a deep cut underlapping drum funk and lots of whirring machine sounds. Parisian space techno talent Cyberduck then takes care of both tunes on the flip - firstly 'Arzach', a deep and dynamic cut that hurriedly scans a vast cosmic world with silvery drums and lush melodies. Then 'Cerclon' gets a little more edgy, with dark and nagging baselines moving up through the mix as the crisp, well-swung tech drums power along.
We are happy to share with you our next VA, welcoming 4 new artists on the label. The EP opens with an entrancing track by our friend Omar, characterized by its groovy and punchy nature. After witnessing DJ Koolt’s electrifying performance of this track at our event in Doka last year, we simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to release it on vinyl.Following “Loophole” by Eversines, an electrifying track that catches you off guard and refuses to release its grip. Its tension steadily mounts, amplified by its playful melodies. On the B-side, we have Dynamic Wave, better known for their releases on Nature Records and Disturbance, with “Spectroid,” a captivating electro track. It’s a mellow track characterized by its gated vocoder-like synths and a smooth, unwavering bassline. The closing track by Enrica sets a serene and ethereal atmosphere with its ambient, dreamy melodies and gentle, slow-tempo rhythm.
The sixth series of OLO Records once again by Miroloja alone this time. Pathagonia offers a quality remix.
