Intercepts is a brand new sub-label from London's Frequency Domain.Frequency Domain has soundtracked late-night astral travelling since 2015, releasing drone, ambient and offbeat electronics from the likes of Forest Drive West, Plant43, Datassette, Matt Whitehead, Anthony Child, Jo Johnson and Ali Wade.Intercepts indulges the parent label's more unruly and percussive leanings with a series of EPs drawn up from an anonymous pool of Frequency Domain artists and newcomers. Intercepts releases are served two at a time, with two separate strands - X and Y - each exploring their own sonic trajectory. The first 'Y' series EP delivers three tracks of urgent machine funk; a spannered slab of 170bpm Braindance hogs the A side, while two peak-time sci-fi electro cuts play out on the flip.
Iro Aka are back on Hivern with the last installment of the trilogy that started back in 2020 with "El Passatge de les Ombres". The present album, "Planet Earth", which will also be released on CD, showcases a new side of the catalan duo. The seven songs share a clinical approach in sound design of both percussion and ambiances. Cuts like the opener "14.696" build up slowly while "Aquamarine", one of the singles, showcases a more euphoric side of the project. This combination of tension, spaced out beats and hypnotic cuts reflects Iro Aka's commitment to creating a cohesive and immersive work that rewards thorough listens. Balmat is a new label with a cloudy outline.Jointly shepherded by Philip Sherburne and Albert Salinas, two friends living in Cardedeu, Catalonia, and on the Balearic island of Menorca, Balmat grew out of Lapsus Radio, a weekly show on Spain’s Radio 3. Balmat’s mission is simple: to foster new ideas, expand upon personal obsessions, and put enveloping sounds out into the world.“Balmat” means “empty” or “void” in Catalan. But quite apart from any negative connotations, we prefer to think of it in terms of possibility: a space waiting to be filled.Balmat’s first release comes from Luke Sanger, a Norwich, UK-based artist whose two decades of electronic music making have encompassed a range of tools and techniques, from MaxMSP to modular synthesis. Along the way he has built an extensive catalog encompassing ambient atmospheres, abstract soundscaping, and more. With Languid Gongue, he puts multiple approaches into play. Experiments in microtonal composition balance out pieces in standard tunings, while esoteric electronic machines merge with familiar acoustic treatments and microphone techniques. The result is a constellation of his signature sounds: freeform new-age fantasia; spring-loaded toytronic arpeggios; quartz-driven braindance clockworks. Drifting between consonant, almost lyrical compositions and shape-shifting textural sketches, the album drifts with the nonchalance of a sky-high cirrus cloud, and it glows as if illuminated from within. When we heard the material, we knew that it was the perfect choice to launch the label. To us, it sounds like a roadmap for points unknown.
Liege-based Gravitational Effect heralds in Reposition's 3rd release with a dazzling electro EP.The 4-tracker pays tribute to electro's intergalactic appeal, whilst simultaneously espousing a fresh take on euphoric and mind-bending dancefloor music.Across the 3 original tracks, ever-evolving synth patterns and playful melodies meet cosmic tones and finely-programmed drum patterns. For such a release, Radioactive Man fit the bill perfectly to jump on remix duties, especially considering how much the legendary producer has inspired GE's musical outlook. His take on Base Control (the most hard-hitting original on the EP) experiments cleverly with the central synth pattern, pitching this down alongside more spaced-out production throughout, to create a 7-min masterpiece of psychedelic and engaging electro.
Niklas Wandt and Niklas Rehme-Schlüter (Cass.) are two multi-instrumentalists and genuine musical minds that work on the fringes of ambient, kraut, jazz and experimental electronics. Both were active in numerous projects as well as solo artists, before joining forces for this special recording to be released on candomblé. „Esculturas Rupestres“, Spanish for „Rock Sculptures“, delivers an enchanting collage of spoken word, ancient drumming, synth ambi(val)ence and free improvisation. N. Wandt serves you dada poetry and stoned drum grooves while N. R-Schlüter provides for the synthesized atmosphere present throughout this recording.
A multi-system conglomerate servicing planets within the Orion Arm of the Milky Way, TerraFirm provides the desiccated, toxified, irradiated or otherwise uninhabitable planets of this sector with a suite of services to rectify any environmental challenge. From geoformation to carbon extraction, desalination to biome rehabilitation, TerraFirm has a full range of services to return your planet to its naturally thriving, pre-apocalypse state.Planets are gigantic circuits, emitting electromagnetic fields that extend into space, protecting against the fields of other cosmic bodies. A planet’s field is integral in the creation, evolution and nourishment of life. Life evolves with the field’s specific vibrational frequency in the same way it evolves with oxygen or water. Distort or remove the frequency and life will cease. Planetary fields are extremely resilient as they originate in the depths of the planet’s core. However, they can be disrupted by the intrusion of competing vibrations to the detriment of all life. Pre-apocalypse civilizations created electromagnetic fields and nuclear wastes that distort the planets natural frequency. Geolectrics will identify areas of vibrational distortion, deploy technologies to harmonize harmful frequencies and increase the amplitude of your planet’s natural frequency via harmonic resonance.
