Loud Enough is back with the second instalment off our 3-EP series dedicated to the Roman Pigna Records, the dancefloor-oriented sister label of Nature Records. Each EP features classic tracks alongside exciting new compositions from key artists of the label."Funk Series Part 3" comes courtesy of Raiders of the lost Arp aka Mario Pierro.Originally recorded in Pigna studios, Rome, Italy, sometime between 2004-2008. Remixed and retouched in Hospitalet studio, Uppsala, Sweden, 2023.
James K debuts on Incienso with sophomore album Random Girl. What’s gathered at first is a heterogeneous mixture of intimacy and sore, collected between 2014-2018. As if in a cruel playground game, K breaks a tracklist full of complex soundscapes, voice manipulation, and dazzling shoegaze with a self-built noise box, stethoscope throat-voice and a cellphone recording from a fake tropical island on ecstasy. Consequently, Random Girl is a voice against infantilization of girlhood, a decisive refutal of integrity, fighting what can be understood as the death of expression. Take a sip of water before your memory error blinks. Dial to K. Listen to the disfragmented territory and the cast of it she’s making. It might not be what you will have thought tomorrow.
Altered Circuits' next release comes by way of Bologna-to-Berlin transplant Jacopo Latini. On the Motherboard EP he combines stubby drums and sultry, efficient basslines with richly hued synth work. Once the cuts get going, a tapestry of melody reveals itself: gated leads are accompanied by burbling arpeggios, momentous chord progressions and bright pads that crawl in and out. The patches often incline to the bright and dreamy but are deployed with restraint; in the same vein, concealed and aloof vocal samples get sprinkled in. These techniques - staples for the artist - add an inscrutable quality to his work's mood. It is dance music that feels direct on the surface yet hides more ambiguous emotions underneath. Being a DJ was Latini's first approach to the electronic genres, and it arguably still is his main inspiration - it even occurs he writes tracks with a specific venue in mind. Since starting over a decade ago, and having meanwhile swapped the local Italian stages for the international ones, he has amassed a ton of analogue gear to help him do so. On this occasion, he plugged in his Roland D-50, Moog Sub 37 and microKorg XL, among other favorites, to take on progressive, trance and tech house. "Motherboard", "High Voltage", "It Comes In The Morning", and "Dual Effect" make for a diverse selection but have indeed the same objective: the club floor.
Following on from previous releases on Left, Right & Centre, Pressure Dome and Control Freak, Pluralist joins the Le Chatroom family with his ‘Console’ EP. The three original tracks have been floating around for the last few years, already featuring in many radio mixes and DJ sets and we are delighted to be finally releasing them on a 12” backed with a heavy remix by Djoser (3024). Will Bowen’s productions are instantly recognisable, his expertly crafted club workouts have already led to regular support from Ben UFO, Re:ni, Ploy and landed him a monthly residency on Rinse France. Drawing from his drumming background, Will’s tracks are intricate and detailed with each element carefully placed and layered for maximum impact. With sometimes 6 or 7 percussive patterns superimposed he still manages to maintain a solid groove where other producers can struggle. His ‘Console’ EP is some of his finest work, striking the perfect balance between utilitarian drum tracks designed for the club and actual songs with catchy vocal and tuned percussion melodies.
Initially born in 2016 with a number of warehouse and DIY events, the Leeds based collective set sights on their label vision during 2017-2020 after opening a studio within the infamous Mabgate Mills. The debut EP captures the tales of many hours of expression spent within Mabgate via four artists closely connected to the project. Rising producer and Perspective boss Kepler brings a dreamy-tinged vision to the A-side, alongside the talented Midge Thompson bringing that lively Leeds energy. Residents Nikol and Keefy G mark their debut release on the flip side with two vibrant jams concluding this versatile EP.
