Pablo Arrangoiz, a man of many monikers, has quite a few experimental releases as well as some dance floor treasures under his belt.

Pablo Arrangoiz, a man of many monikers, has quite a few experimental releases as well as some dance floor treasures under his belt. His work navigates unholy experimental sounds, spooky atmospheric endeavors, clownish takes on Bach’s canons and much more. The Gurner, released under his new alias Baüzer Vep, fits the bill perfectly: it induces you in a dream-like, slightly nightmarish state, but does so with irony and without neglecting grooves.

Having explored rather obscure and downtempo territory with Mr. G's album Pearls Don't Lay On the Shore earlier this year, CHILDHOOD returns with another discernig 12" dedicated to the dancefloor. Welcome to PLACE OF CONNECT PT.01! Ed Davenport, who has mainly focussed on his INLAND moniker in recent years, brings back another distinctive side of his personality delivering three unique, raw and pumping house cutz under his real name. The A-side starts off with Suntazia, an acid break beat anthem that sheds light and euphoria onto any dance floor, and is followed by the true jacking groove that is Inertia. The B-side is made up of Electricity, a wonderful testimonial to those magic moments on the dance floor, when everybody in the room just moves and moves... beyond the need of unnecessary gimmicks and sonic spectacles.
Spray, founded in 2020, is a Berlin based record label providing the freshest old and new trance infused house, breaks, acid and downtempo sounds. The label focuses on reissuing slept-on ‘90s gems and aims to provide a platform for new artists. The first release brings in an outstanding reissue from one of LA’s finest artists from the ‘90s ‘Dimension 23’ including a remix from Spray favourite, Or:la - the perfect sonic combination between old and new and a testament to what the label aims to project.
SNC Recs are no strangers to suprises. With the label's fourth release CHRONIC DURATIONS EP you’ll want to fasten your seatbelts. Nicolas Epe aka The Duty freedom, a Cologne based musician and artist, is ready to step into the spotlight, with the debut of his latest Alter Ego.On CHRONIC DURATIONS he takes the audience on a dramatic, emotional journey into the world of Intelligent Drum and Bass music. The sound is familiar, yet new and timeless, it’s stuck in the 90s while showcasing the future. Slow melodies carry you through the tracks and are broken byfast kicks and glitchy sounds. The EP can be understood as a hybrid of sound and video art. To further lose yourself in the work, The Duty Freedom has created a series of dreamlike glitch video pieces that can be enjoyed alongside the sounds and help to unterstand the artist's full intentions. Chronic Durations works both as a first-class listening record and in a (hopefully soon to be available) club context at emotional and well-chosen moments. See you hopefully soon on the dance floor again – stay safe and be prepared for some serious heaters on SNC Recs in 2021.
Barcelona-based radio show / record label Canela en Surco is proud to present the first compilation of the best early works of Alex Martin, a local hero and pioneer of the electronic music scene in Barcelona and a key piece in the development of dance music during the early 90's.Producing under different pseudonyms (Sideral, A3K, The Fat DB, as well as his own name, Alex Martin), he has released EPs on iconic labels such as F Communications, Klang Elektronik, Minifunk, Boozo Music, as well as his own imprint Higlamm Phonographics. This double compilation aims to capture the wide range of styles Alex has produced: from ambient, downtempo, and IDM (Elipse, Mare Nostrum, Butterfly) to NYC and Detroit-influenced house music (I Wanna Look To The Stars, Incognita, Can Make It) to minimal techno and early tech house (Planetarium, Twirl, Firewall), Alex has navigated an immense variety of styles, consistently maintaining a highly personal sound of impressive quality for someone so far removed geographically from the main centers of creation at the time.Album comes with a double-sided insert with a photo of young Alex himself and liner notes from the artist and label owners. All tracks are officially licensed from the artist and remastered from the original DAT tapes by Simon Davey at The Exchange (London).
When was the last time you were Hearing Colours? Long term music companions, and more importantly close friends, Felipe Valenzuela and Argenis Brito unite once more for their collaboration project - FAER, showcasing their timeless chemistry. This time the Berlin based duo have created an innovative four track EP, “The Fraud Era” and it is ready to see the light of day on the blossoming Hearing Colours label which is co-founded by Felipe himself, and Miami based Max Kraushaar. Opener “Space Cuts” is a serious and gritty number, with real tenacity, hypnotic synths melt into the snappy and crisp broken drums. Squelchy acid bass leads you down a path of curiosity in “Trick Or Trick”, before being met with an intricate groove that enables you to release the tension. Two dancefloor dynamic tracks, both in their own right. The B side showcases the more eclectic and complex side to the pair's productions. Mysterious tones and atmospheres continuously evolve in “Inmersion”, creating an otherworldly yet infectious mood. Mechanical whirrs and bleeps maneuver their way around a glitchy body in the final track, “Fraud Era”. Trippy and eccentric energy for the after party hours, intelligently arranged by two masters of their craft. Since their well received “Internal Jokes And Other Matters'' EP on Raum Musik... tastemakers have been patiently waiting for the next FAER encounter, and this will undoubtedly wroth the wait.
