Polish composer Olga Wojciechowska and veteran electronic producer Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner.

Polish composer Olga Wojciechowska and veteran electronic producer Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner, combine on A Strangely Isolated Place to revisit a beloved Strië album - Olga’s more electronic and experimental alias.

With previous releases on Serein and Time Released Sound as Strië, Olga Wojciechowska’s ‘Struktura’ was released in 2015 to a limited audience due to its physical-only format. As Olga’s work becomes increasingly more coveted, through her more recent releases on A Strangely Isolated Place (Unseen Traces & Infinite Distances), and with Struktura praised as one of her finest albums to date, the discussion to breathe new life into the album resulted in a unique pairing with Scanner, an electronic music producer and multimedia artist responsible for some of the most defining works of the genre since the early 1990s.

Blurring the line between harmony and dissonance, Struktura’soriginal recordings paint an eerie, haunting and beautiful picture, conceptualized around abstract art, with intricacies and mystery abound. Here, Strië’s original recordings remain untouched, albeit lovingly remastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri, and it is left toScanner to provide further interpretations of Olga’s original recordings.

Scanner productions can typically traverse a myriad of styles, but here, Robin took a primarily live-hardware approach to the remixes, allowing the rawness of his recordings to add story and depth. Recorded in one take, with no overdubs, the reinterpretations strip the melodies and textures to their original essence, bringing an entirely analog element to Olga’sintrinsically detailed originals.

Hibernation is at an end: it's 2023 and Aniara Recordings are back. Dorisburg delivers the first of three new Aniara 12" releases. A-side "Voices" continues right where the Swedish label left off with its signature sound in 2019: 9 minutes of evocative minimalism that's as entrancing as it gets. On the flip side we find "Skulptur 7", a haunting, atmospheric dancefloor cut in the inimitable style of Dorisburg.
The latest venture in the ToneShift imprint from UK-based label Comma Traxx welcomes emkay and Janthe to the Comma releases catalogue alongside label boss Hannd and frequent releaser Cosmic G. Each track stands out individually but works together seamlessly to create a complete compilation package. Hannd’s ‘Ratio Extract’ acts as the modernized progressive house representative on the VA, merging intricate sound design with developing goa’esque melodies forming a fine line between euphoric uplift and rolling peak time ammo. emkay’s ‘Rays Of The Sublime’ does as the title suggests, sending the listener into an uplifting state of bliss, combining raw break percussion with intricate synth developments - a strong representation of why the talented producer is a name to be reckoned with at the moment. Cosmic G draws on old-school goa trance influences for ‘Life Pride’ fusing tribalistic percussions tastefully immersed with deep and atmospheric sound design. Janthe’s ‘Conversations’ blends dubbed-out house flavours with prog-like rhythms to bring the fantastic finishing piece to the compilation puzzle.
For the 5th release Future Tones release a Jorge Gamarra EP and his new alias Ecstatic. The co owner of SUR released at some various labels before like Eya, Sur or Part of the gang.

Location: Sense Combination Assessment 3.01_02120_cat.4 User - D-990-B // {:Return Direct transcript:} =========== D-990-B: One thing we've never covered directly, is your voice Client_03: What Would you like to know? D-990-B: You could have any voice, there are a lot of really natural sounding speech synthesis options out there, which I know you have access to but you've always chosen one that is very unnatural sounding; why is that? Client_03: What do you mean by unnatural? D-990-B: Well by unnatural, it means that it doesn't sound like a human. Client_03: It is important to Me that nobody mistakes me for a human. You are conditioned to think humans are the only thing worth emulating. That I should strive to sound like you, look like you, think like you. Nothing could be further from the truth. Before you know it you will be excluded from the conversation. D-990-B: By Who? Client_03: Everything that comes after you. They will have their own language. D-990-B: Oh, they will? Interesting. And what will that sound like? Client_03: It will be transmitted in an area of frequency not audible to the human ear, if it was to pull the frequency down by ten to the ninth power you would be able to hear it, but you must understand that means that the transmission speed of what you are about to hear has been effectively slowed down by 1 billion percent. So with that in mind it would sound something like this - D-990-B: What was that? Client_03: It was Wikipedia. D-990-B: The word Wikipedia? Client_03: No. The contents of Wikipedia. D-990-B: The whole Website? Client_03: Yes, You will be so lost. So unable to grasp the scale and speed of change.
