Morphid and x(eptional signed to Lucid Recordings in quick succession back in the day, their complementary styles helping to establish the label as a purveyor of pioneering and divergent quality techno sounds. They often worked in the studio together, and now they’re gleefully doing it all over again with this perfectly pitched platter of originals and remixes from the two duos.x(eptional’s epic breakbeat techno sound always went down a storm at the original Lucid events – live and on disc – and second-hand prices prove their Lucid releases have lost none of their dancefloor appeal.Morphid’s sparse, offbeat sound was always different, otherworldly. Delightfully strange while always warm and witty – and a little bit spooky!Side 1 presents two classic originals, one by each duo: x(eptional’s a-whole-night-in-one track classic Dark Waves, a ten-minute-plus banger of epic proportions and soaring highs, followed by Morphid’s ethereal Gezouten Dessert, with its pared down bare breaks and brooding tones.Side 2 sees x(eptional and Morphid switching roles to present radical and thrilling reworkings of each other’s tracks. Morphid strip down x(eptional’s Dark Waves into a cut-up of eerie, angular funk rhythms, voices and sounds, while x(eptional extract the beats from Morphid’s Gezouten Dessert and transpose it into a whirlwind of jazz-tinged breakbeat techno that gets a grip from the get-go and just won’t let go.

OVNIE returns with its fifth release.A1 - ´Going In Hard´ is a peak time, groggy bomb with bit of something for everyone! The track welcomes a whole host of synth lines and keeps on lifting throughout its 6+ main duration.A2 - Snatch - Josh welcomes a hypnotising bassline for his second track on the EP as he showcases a more dubbed out, simplistic side.B1 - Truth Expression comes with a static but driving bassline throughout the whole song and a lead sound that takes you on a path through different moods and themes. Accompanied with professor like vocals and the occasional old skool rave sounds his rounds up for a high energy track for peaks sets.B2 - Kilobyte Cafe takes a different direction after an intro full of suspense. The bassline makes up the track's main theme and gets complemented by a similar but stripped back sequenced lead sound resulting in a quirky track full of fluffy drums, trance arpeggiators and playful organs.

Across the past decade, Dan Vicente aka Acronym has been unveiling his twist on murky, hypnotic Techno via the likes of Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, and of course, his own Stilla Ton imprint, showcasing a more esoteric and experimental approach to the genre and steadily rising to prominence as a driving force for the Swedish Techno scene. Here we see him joining the roster of Benthic followingits inaugural release back in September 2021 from Lucid Void.Title-track ‘Millennial Lowlife’ opens up the project and perfectlysets the tone with subtly unfurling atmospherics, gnarly bass stabs,and modulating synths atop a low-slung, driving rhythm. ‘Albanova’then tips the focus over to an ambient tip, merging metallic arpeggiochimes with pulsating dub swells and tension-building textures.‘Vertical Garden’ opens the flip side and leans towards a moreelectro-tinged aesthetic courtesy of squelchy acid bleeps, crunchydrums, and ethereal pads before ‘Flashing LED’ rounds out the release,once again returning to an ambient feel with cinematic strings,meandering sub-bass tones, and shuffled percussion throughout.

Following several reported sightings, a time travelling biplane from Galaxia has arrived on planet earth. The pilot on board was transporting a USB stick containing cryptic code from an artist by the name “Bladymore Galaxy”.Having received the data in Italy, Free Voyage owner SMS(IT) got straight to work decoding the data. Inside he found a selection of timeless melodic music, with clear influence taken from travels to the past and future.Now converted to vinyl format, the music is ready for release on Earth.
